We had a rather frustrating time figuring out where the whale watching boat was. Google navigation failed us badly all the way around on this trip, but it's especially bad when you're on foot going block after block the wrong direction. We missed the boat, but they rescheduled us so it all turned out ok.

All the properties in this area cost millions of dollars. The tour guide was pointing out houses of the rich and famous, but a lot of them were sports stars that I have no clue about. The only name I caught was the actor Jackie Chan.
Some of the more expensive houses cost around $10-$20 million.
The guide pointed out the hole in the middle of this building that has something to do with feng shui. I don't know about all that, but it's one of the many cool looking buildings in Surfer's Paradise.
Whales
So, the thing about trying to take pictures of whales is that they've dissappeared before you can actually get the shot. Here are the best of the eleventymillion photos I took.
I wouldn't normally include so many shots that are essentially the same, but these are my favorite photos from the whole trip. :-)
Back in port
It was a rather overcast, chilly day, but we had a good time. :-)
