Before
Their friend, Betsy, who's a beautician, came over to their house to shave Karen's head.
And so it begins.
If you're
wondering about the open wall in the background, we had to tear out the plaster
to get to the water heater and haven't had a chance to install new sheetrock
yet.
Karen was absolutely
rocking the punk look.
She loved it and kept saying "I totally look like a
Londoner!"
Karen's dad, Jim, wanted to get
his head shaved too in support.
It was an awesome gesture. :-)
He was cool with getting a mowhawk too. :-)
She gave him a little Squiggy curl in the front. :-)
Jim wasn't so sure about the hand
gestures,
he said "This doesn't mean anything bad does it?" :-)
Dee told them to do their best Sid Vicious faces. :-)
So, then it was time to get real.
Karen's mom, Janet, was there to support her as well.
Our friend Shannon has become
Karen's full-time caregiver.
Both of them were very brave, and Karen would be a bad ass punk rocker!
